Version 4 Users: Transferring the software to a new computer or user.

NOTE:  The following instructions are for version 4 customers.

You may transfer or share the data file amongst users within your organization OR move the data from one user to another (or computer) 

Transferring is basically a simple 5 step process.  

  1. Make sure the software is installed on both computers.  You can install the software from our website.       Use the following link to install:
 
2.    User 1 backups the data file saving it to her computer or on an internet file sharing site like Dropbox.
3.  User 1 then emails the backup data file and the license file to User 2. 
4.  User 2 saves the files to their computer in the MyDirectoryMakerSchool folder that was created during the installation in step 1.
5.  User 2 opens the software and goes to the Administration form and the Data File Management tab.  Click Restore and select the data file user 1 emailed to you. 
 
   
     Note:  The license file which will have your school name with the .lic as the extension. 
     For example:  Oken Elementary.lic  This file is on your computer under the MyDirectoryMakerSchool folder.
